This was a custom urn box created for a private client. It was made for a deceased guitar maker, and I used some of his materials to construct this box. The body of the box is made from highly figured quilted maple from an unfinished guitar body, the corner banding is made from macassar ebony fretboard, and herringbone purfling was used to create the middle strip that also serves as a subtle handle. The box was purposefully made smaller to hold a portion of the ashes and be easier to display.
